Mirrored images are very interesting and often result in surprising patterns. This is a brief tutorial as to how it is done. Starting with a photo of a sculpture from one of the cemeteries in France or Italy, I decide where I want to crop it and then duplicate the image. After duplicating the image (a new layer) I then reverse it. After merging the two parts, I make a duplicate copy of the layer. |
Now that I have two identical layers, I turn off the top layer. I then sepia tone the bottom layer by going to the hue/saturation filter. I like to use 31 in the hue box and lower the saturation to about -67, you can adjust the lightness as needed. I then turn back on the other layer which is now on top, I lower the opacity until just a pale amount of the orginal color lays on top of the sepia layer. |
